United has a promo where they’ll give you 5,000 bonus miles when you spend $1,000 on your United credit card between August 1 and October 31st. You must register here.
It would appear that all spending from August 1st (even if you are just registering now) will count.

Anyway, nice find. I would go for it, but with my use of the “one card to rule them all,” I’m able to effectively get this.
