American Announces Los Angeles as Next 777-300ER City; You’ll Just Have to Wait a Year

American made a splashy roll out for their new 777-300ERs recently, showing off their upgraded premium cabins that will now match what a bunch of airlines had several years ago. At the time they said that the first planes with the new cabins would fly Dallas – Sao Paulo beginning in December, with Dallas – London; New York – London; and New York – Sao Paulo coming early next year.

Today, they added Los Angeles – London to that list of routes, with service set to begin (wait for it) June 2013. If you can’t wait until June 2013 for a flatbed in business class on that route, feel free to take Virgin Atlantic. Or Air New Zealand. Or British Airways. Or United. Whew, American really needs to set up their game.

  1. Just like United – their updated business isn’t too bad, but their updated coach is circa 2001 at best.
