As much as most people love JetBlue, you don’t hear too many people talking up the benefits of TrueBlue, their frequent flyer program. That’s because it’s always felt pretty tacked on and perfunctory to me, with a confusing redemption scheme (points are used to purchase airfare, but not at a fixed conversion rate) and no partners.
With that glowing review out of the way, I just wanted to let you know that their JetBlue American Express card now has an offer for 20,000 bonus TrueBlue points when you spend $500 in 3 months. The card has a $40 annual fee, and it isn’t waived in year 1.
Those 20,000 miles can be converted into roughly $200 in airfare, though maybe a bit more, maybe a bit less. So, not a huge deal (the normal offer is 10,000 bonus miles), but better than nothing, especially if you plan on redeeming some TrueBlue points that you’ve accumulated. Nice to add to that pile.
