Continental Express Flight Lands at Wrong Airport (for the Third Time)

We haven’t seen one of these in a while: Last Wednesday a Continental Express flight (operated by Colgan) from Houston to Lake Charles, LA, landed at the wrong airport, touching down at the small Southland Field instead of Lake Charles Regional Airport.

Oddly, this is the third time in the past 20 years that this has happened, including twice in the mid-1990s.

The flight crew was not permitted to fly the plane to the correct airport, so passengers were taken by bus.

  1. they get compensation for the screw up?

  2. That was not a Continental Express flight.
It was Continental Connection, the same one that crashed in Buffalo. Colgan Airlines does not operate Continental Express flights.
