American Airlines has begun offering Samsung Galaxy tablets to premium cabin customers in select markets and will roll out the device to other markets later this year.
AA passengers flying JFK-LAX, JFK-SFO and MIA-LAX on 767-200s and 767-300s as well as those flying BOS-LAX on 757s will have the units available to them. Also, the airline will include the device on 767-300 flights to Europe and South America.
The tablets will be preloaded with entertainment options and eventually will offer wi-fi internet capability for an additional charge.
American will eventually have 6,000 tablets available across the fleet.
