Spirit Airlines Pilots Go On Strike; How to Get a Refund for Spirit Airlines

Spirit Airlines pilots have gone on strike over wages and, with that, all of the airline’s flights have been canceled.  Not good, considering yesterday they were saying that they would accommodate passengers on other airlines; today, no such thing.

If you were planning on flying on Spirit today (or any day as long as the strike continues), the airline has laid out their policies here:  you can either get a credit for the amount of your ticket, plus they’ll throw in a $100 flight voucher; or you can get a full refund.  I’m guessing most will chose the latter, considering the $100 will barely cover your carry-on bag fees.

Spirit’s management has historically either been true to their convictions or incredibly bull-headed, depending on how you want to look at it, so this could go on for a while.

  1. your flights may be low but so is your quality and it’s declining rapidly. ownership is interested in lining their own pockets and let the employee’s and customers to fend for themselves, your only loyaly is to ownership. Here’s our promise to spirit airlines (or maybe your should change your name to “DISMAL AIRLINES” Here’s one family (8) that will never fly your airline again and hope that others will join in.

  2. The 1-800 line doent work

  3. Spirit has promised to shut the airline down if the strike happens. So that voucher may not be a good idea.

  4. I paid over $400 to get home from Vegas and now the airlines says they will only refund 1/2 my trip and $100. That doesn’t come close to what I had to pay to get home!! I will never use Spirit airlines again and I hope others do the same.
