Spirit Airlines: Watch (a) Tiger Drive Into a Fire Hydrant

How can you not love Spirit Airlines (I don’t want to hear how you can’t love them)…Check out their homepage today (December 2nd), and tell me you don’t laugh at the animation of a tiger driving an SUV into a fire hydrant to advertise their Eye of the Tiger Sale.  Sooooo good.

(Thanks to reader D-Lux for the heads up…)

  1. love it. just love it. FORE!

  2. But what does it have to do with anything? “Eye of the Tiger?” – How does that in any way connect with a fare sale? At least their Mullet Sale (“Business in front, party in the back”) to advertise Spirit Plus a few years ago was catchy, smart and relevant. “Eye of the Tiger” is none of those things. It’s a media stunt designed to get page views and get their name in the media in any way possible. Sure, you laughed, but they just continue to reinforce their brand as juvenile.

  3. Their marketing IS juvenile…that’s the idea. How many ways can you say “fare sale”? They mix it up, and it’s funny…

  4. I just saw one of their online ads in the spirit of “Twilight” — the copy was something like “Low Moon…Low Fares Taste So Good” with little blood spattery looking spots and brooding. Why can’t all banner ads be so clever? Who is their creative agency?
