Report: 1,200 Laptop Lost a Week at LAX (Key Takeaway: Put Your Name on Your Laptop)

A new study finds that 1,200 laptops are lost each week at LAX airport (is saying “LAX airport” like saying “ATM Machine”?  Is it redundant?), roughly 1/10 of all laptops lost in airports each week.  Incredibly (as if 1,200 lost laptops each week isn’t incredible enough), only 1/3 of the laptops are returned.  And only half of those returned laptops are returned before the flight departs.

Yes, it’s stressful at the security checkpoints, but that seems like a crazy high number.  The key takeaway:  put your name and phone number on your laptop (I don’t have one on mine, I admit).
