Skybus to Make Changes, Slow Growth

Mar 14th, 2008 | By Jared Blank

Skybus, facing the same miserable oil prices as everyone else, has announced that there are some changes afoot at the low cost carrier.  They’re going to cut back on the amount of flying done by aircraft each day (now at about 15 hours) to improve their on-time performance (that’s good news for passengers).  They’ll also slow next year’s growth to about 50% from the projected 100%.  Finally, look for route changes — their west coast service will likely disappear, and I wouldn’t be shocked if a year from now their routemap is basically a few northeast cities to a number of cities in Florida.
