24-Year Old Pilot at the Controls During Amazing Landing of A320

You may have already seen the amazing video (here) of a Lufthansa A320 attempting to land with some very strong headwinds (well worth a look). Der Spiegel is now reporting that the 24-year old co-pilot was at the controls during the landing attempt. Having the co-pilot land is certainly not unusual, so don’t believe any stories that overplay that angle. The pilot, who has considerably more experience, was able to abort the landing, despite the plane’s wing having touched the ground.
