Venezuelan Airline: Screw You, USA!
Oct 9th, 2007 | By Jared BlankI’m not sure I’ve ever seen an airline introduce flights solely to piss off another government, but here we go: Venezuela’s state airline, Conviasa, has launched flights to Iran, via Syria, from Caracas. Iran’s national airline, strangely, also launched service from Iran to Caracas, via Syria, last spring. Must be a lot of demand for that route. A Syrian official said that the route was launched to combat the harassment Muslims are receiving in the US after 9/11. Or something.
There’s a great article on the Iran Air flight in the latest Airways magazine.
Bravo, Venezuela!
Good to know….
Muslims are more harassed in europe and the middle east than the USA.
