British Airways Loses 6,000 Bags

Be glad you weren’t flying British Airways last weekend:  The carrier said that because of staff shortages, they managed to lose 6,000 bags.  But fret not, the thousands of bags are being shipped to Milan (?) where they’ll be sorted out and returned to their rightful owners.

  1. Imagine the lost & found agent (s) who have to enter all of those lost bags into airline baggage tracking system…

  2. I was one of those folks who lost their bag. We were on an Africa Safari, no luggage for 3 weeks. Naked safari.

I would love to get an email address to write BA. I want my money back for the clothes I purchased. Any body have the email address for BA.

  3. I was one of those who lost luggage too. Mine is apparently still in Milan somewhere, waiting for someone to get around to it. Has anyone received their bag from Milan yet? What’s the wait time like? I’ve been waiting for 3 weeks, and my bag was sent to Milan 11 days ago.

  5. I am waiting since June 27, when my bag was left behind at Heathrow. After an abundant number of trials to reach anyone at BA, I got hold of someone at British Executive Club and was told the same story of Milan (14 days ago!) – let’s hope they are really working on the “lucky return” of our luggage and not selling it to someone else ;-). Be shure to send your claims to BA within the 21 day period!

  6. My Wife and Daughter Flew thru Heathrow on june 20 in route to a Cruise from Barcelona. Her bags are still lost and my daughters arrived home the day they did. British Airways will not give us any info. I’m willing to join any Class action Suits. This ruined a cruis of Europe trip of a lifetime for us. No appologies no help, no information

  7. I lost a bag from Rome to Heathrow July 8, 2007. The worst part was the lies from BA. “Your bag will be on the next flight and delivered to you hotel in London”. Yeas right – I’m back in Los Angeles still waiting after over 2 weeks and BA can’t even tell me where the bag is!

  8. Don’t lose hope. I, too, was beginning to despair but finally my case was returned to me this morning, even though the system still shows the bag’s status as “tracing continues”. It was lost on June 29th and sent by truck to Milan on July 4th. Nothing is missing out of the bag, although the contents was more than damp and mouldy.
