British Airways Cancels 2 Days of Flights

Jan 25th, 2007 | By Jared Blank

British Airways has cancelled all of its flights from Heathrow on January 30-31 because of a labor dispute.  All flights to and from Gatwick also will not fly.  More than 1,400 flights will be affected.  This is probably good news for little-known Silverjet, which launches today (and at Eos, where I’m doing some work, it should also benefit).

  1. Silverjet’s got an uphill climb. Newark and Luton are hardly New York and London, respectively (booking codes notwithstanding.) The transfers on either end for most pax are Not Fun.

You could put Concorde on that route and get a run for your money in door-to-door times as compared to JFK-Heathrow operated subsonic.
