Olympic Airlines Will Disappear in the Fall

Jun 8th, 2006 | By Jared Blank

Greece’s very troubled flag carrier, Olympic Airlines, will disappear for good this fall, when it is replaced by a new company called Pantheon Airways.  Olympic Airlines, which used to be called Olympic Airways, was on the brink of bankruptcy brought on by a huge illegal subsidy it received from the Greek government that it was being forced to repay. Short the cash, the government decided to wipe Olympic from our memories and start over again with Pantheon.
