I don’t talk much about new routes, but I think it’s great when airlines open up nonstop routes to parts of the world that usually don’t see new service. Which is why I’m letting you know that North American Airlines is launching once-a-week nonstop service to Banjul, The Gambia, in West Africa, with continuing service to Accra, Ghana. We take nonstop air service for granted here, and people get pretty pissed off when they have to connect on their way to anywhere. You can imagine, then, what it’s like if you do work in, say, Banjul, The Gambia, and you’re trying to get to the US. New service to Africa is huge help toward increasing development in that part of the world. Bravo to North American for discovering the niche.
