South African Flight Forgets Passengers

Dec 2nd, 2005 | By Jared Blank

Here’s an odd one:  A South African Airways flight from Johannesburg to Lusaka, Zambia, returned to the airport 40 minutes after takeoff because the crew was told that they had forgotten 42 passengers back in Johannesburg.  The missing passengers were brought by minibus to the wrong plane (which is why they were not on the correct plane in the first place.)  I guess that really makes this a story about a minibus, which isn’t that interesting.  Move along, nothing to see here.

  1. Oy. 46 passengers. Pending what type of aircraft was used, it could make take off etc. rather dicey. I’m glad I wasn’t on it…
