Cruise Ship Fights Off Pirates

Nov 7th, 2005 | By Jared Blank

It’s not an airline story, but it’s pretty crazy: Pirates (yes pirates) attempted to overtake a Seabourn cruise ship off the coast of Somalia. The linked story gives all the details, but incredibly the small cruise ship was able to outrun and fight off the pirates. Yes, pirates. I’m not a boat guy, but I really wasn’t aware that pirates (yes, pirates) are still a huge problem in many parts of the world. Forgive my ignorance.
