Continental Posts Profit

Oct 19th, 2005 | By Jared Blank

Despite a number of major obstacles, Continental actually turned a $61 million profit last quarter, an astounding turnaround considering the increasing fuel costs and a near 2-day shutdown of their primary hub because of a hurricane.  They were able to accomplish this feat by introducing new international routes (just as Delta is doing) and by, gasp, raising fares.  Pretty impressive considering the environment.
