JetBlue Shuttle, Part 2
Oct 12th, 2005 | By Jared BlankI just wanted to mention one more thing about this JFK-Boston JetBlue shuttle announcement: About 7 months ago I wrote that JetBlue was planning on launching this shuttle at roughly these prices. Now, if I knew about it, and I know absolutely nothing, how is it possible that there has been no competitive response? Delta and US Airways knew this was coming and their response was apparently to pray really, really hard that it didn’t actually happen. No promotions to tie people to the airline for the year, no bonus mile offers for flying the shuttle, say, once a month, to keep travelers coming back to those airlines. Nothing. And now they’re facing $25 fares. Good luck!
If we don’t openly recognize it and conjure up a competitive response, maybe it will go away. One work – denial.
