British Tourists Stop Airplane from Taking Off

Sep 13th, 2005 | By Jared Blank

British tourists on a flight from Cyprus halted the takeoff of their flight bound for Manchester after, you’ll love this, a Muslim passenger took too long in the bathroom.  The passengers assumed something was up, and they demanded that the pilot abort takeoff.  The Pakistani passengers, who may have had some spicy food the previous evening (or something) took 10 minutes in the bathroom, which is apparently too long for Arab passengers nowadays.  It is now recommended that Arab passengers eat non-spicy foods prior to flying to as not to arouse suspicion.
