FAA Probes Maintenance Problems at Northwest

Sep 6th, 2005 | By Jared Blank

FAA investigators are looking into reports of maintenance problems at Northwest Airlines since the carrier’s mechanics went on strike in August.  The investigation was triggered after the FAA learned that Northwest’s inspection reports have not been entered into the FAA’s database, and, because of this, nobody at the FAA has noticed the rise in maintenance-related incidents.  Keep in mind that the FAA has not (yet) accused Northwest of any wrongdoing.
