The Wall St. Journal (reg req’d, sorry) has a pretty good article about Air France Dedicate, the airline’s scheduled service to oil-related destinations. What does that mean? It means nonstop flights from Paris to places like Pointe Noire, Congo, and Malabo, Equitorial Guinea. Not exactly leisure trips. The flights have brought up some interesting issues; specifically, they no longer serve alcohol on the flights because oil workers who have been living on a platform in the ocean for four weeks tend to get a bit rowdy when plied with unlimited amounts of alcohol. Hard to fault them for that.
