Cheap Fares to India to Visit Friends, Relatives

Jul 6th, 2005 | By Jared Blank

The Wall Street Journal (reg req’d, sorry) reports on Lufthansa’s new website called WeFlyHome.com aimed at ethnic communities returning to visit friends and relatives in India, Israel, Greece, Russia and other countries. Fares to India start at around $900, which is on par with other consolidators. Lufthansa has picked these markets to compete with consolidators, who dominate airline ticket sales to these countries. The fares on the site are definitely lower than published fares (those you’ll find at other online sites and at regular travel agents), so if you’re traveling to one of these countries, it’s worth a visit.
