United to Stop Using Denver Baggage System

You might remember back when Denver’s new airport opened a bunch of years ago that United was touting a $250 million state of the art baggage system.  You may also remember some reports soon after stating that the system was chewing up people’s bags and/or losing them.  Well, United has now decided that, despite its cost, it’s time to shut down the once-state-of-the-art baggage system and move bags around by hand at Denver’s airport. United feels (correctly) that the $60 million PER YEAR the system cost was not worth the investment.
