Delta Faces Cash Crunch

May 11th, 2005 | By Jared Blank

As one of the financial analysts noted last week, Delta announced today that it will face a liquidity crunch by the end of this year, with some analysts saying a bankruptcy filing could come during the third quarter.  Delta may try to sell one of its regional carriers to raise cash in the meantime, but even that will only postpone an inevitable filing as they have one basic problem:  it costs them more money to run their business than they are able to bring in.  Duh.
