US Airways and America West Link Up?

In a more perfect world, the link-up makes sense, as it would give America West the east coast foothold is has sought unsuccessfully in the past. In this world, however, it would saddle America West with debt and a foothold in an ultra-competitive market it has failed in before. America West should focus on fixing their core (unprofitable) business before jumping in to US Airways’ mess.
