$0 to Fiji, a Follow-up

Apr 14th, 2005 | By Jared Blank

You may remember a story posted here last week about a Travelocity error that allowed a number of people to buy tickets to Fiji for $0.  A quick follow up:  when this has happened in the past, it’s been a mixed bag as to whether airlines choose to honor the fare.  Well, I give Travelocity a whole bucket of credit:  tonight, they called each person who purchased the $0 ticket and said that Travelocity would happily honor the ticket (sucking up the fare themselves) or pay the passenger $250 not to use it.  I’ll give credit here where it’s due…

  2. Enjoy the blog – I’ve subscribed. btw, just wondering who your source is at Travelocity that said they’d called all those folks with $0 fare tickets.

  3. The guys on the flyertalk board said that a number of them had received calls from Travelocity.

  4. I’m one of the people who was able to get those free tickets to Fiji, but I have not received a call from Travelociy, yet. I did get an email saying that a Travelocity representative will call me, it just hasn’t happened yet.
