Japan Airlines Pilots Takes Off Illegally

To celebrate my departure from Japan (and, hence, the news that there shall be no Wednesday posts because I’ll be in-flight), I’ll pass along this odd story from here:

A JAL co-pilot operated 3 flights this week without proper training.  The co-pilot had only been on the job for 5 months, while regulations require 6 months of work before receiving permission to do a takeoff and landing.

No, not a big story, I know.  I apologize.  I promise it’ll be better when I get back.  If you’re really, really lucky, I’ll share the story of Southwest Airlines’ win of Cargo Airline of the year by the Express
Delivery & Logistics Association.  But only if you’re really, really lucky.
