US Airways Gets More Time
Apr 1st, 2005 | By Jared BlankIt looks more and more like US Airways is going to survive its bankruptcy to live another day. The airline was granted a second extension by a bankruptcy court to file its reorganization plan. The carrier now has until May 31 to file its new plan without being bothered by creditors. This makes the previously announced June emergence from bankruptcy rather unlikely, but it also gives US Airways two more months to find more money. The court also approved Republic Airlines’ $125 million investment, which would be made available once US Airways is out of bankruptcy. Despite everything I (and everyone else) wrote 4 months ago, it looks like we’ll have US Airways to kick around for a while.
