Afghan 737 Crashed Near Kabul

Feb 4th, 2005 | By Jared Blank

A Kam Air 737 crashed near Kabul, Afghanistan, after being turned away from the airport because of heavy snow.  The fate of the 104 people on board is unknown.  The airline, which started in 2003, is Afghanistan’s only private airline and flies between Kabul and Dubai and Istanbul.  Initial reports, which tend to be wrong, suggest the aircraft ran out of fuel as it attempted to divert to an airport in Pakistan.
