Continental Says Goodbye to the MD-80

Yeah, it’s a slow airline news day which is why I’m letting you know that Continental has retired the last of its MD-80s (if you don’t know what that means, the MD-80 is also the DC-9—it’s the plane with 2 seats on one side of the aisle and 3 seats on the other).  While on the older side, because its engines were set all the way in the back it offered a really quiet ride toward the front of the plane.  Continental has reduced its fleet to just 3 types of aircraft (737, 757/767, and 777).
