Delta Frequent Flyers Receive Great News

Dec 16th, 2004 | By Jared Blank

In the best news to hit frequent flyers in years, Delta has eliminated many of the harsh rules it implemented 2 years ago.  Specifically:

–Cheap fares now qualify for 100% Medallion Qualification Miles (hear that, Continental?)
–Change fees are now reduced from $100 to $50.
–Platinum status now only requires 75,000 miles (instead of 100,000).

On the negative side, short flights now only earn 500 points instead of 750.  But that’s a small price to pay for the other changes.  Well done.

  1. Great news for those of us Delta FF members in Atlanta who were penalized because we flew non-stop and never had the chance to rack up the miles like our connecting breathern did. Especially helpful with Delta’s increased presence to Latin America. Sounds like the suits finally listened to the seats!
