United Returns to Vietnam

Dec 9th, 2004 | By Jared Blank

United Airlines is making its first return flight to Vietnam today, when a 747-400 from SFO (through Hong Kong) touches down in Ho Chi Minh City.  No US airline has flown to the country since the fall of Saigon in 1975.  Quietly, though, Vietnam Airlines is in the process of building up a long-range fleet, bolstering its European routes and eyeing flights to the US.

Kinda incredible to think that in 2035, Delta (or whoever) will be flying to Baghdad.
