Botswana to Upgrade Runways

Dec 9th, 2004 | By Jared Blank

If you’ve ever thought of going on a safari but avoided the prospect because of the tiny planes, you may be in luck.  Botswana (safari hotbed and site of my honeymoon) is increasing the size of runways at Maun and Kasane (gateways to safaris) to handle 737s.  Just thought you’d like to know.

  1. I was also on that honeymoon and I can’t imagine the runways being any smaller. Do the planes still make unexpected stops if someone decides they’d like to get ‘dropped off’ at a more convenient location than the final destination?
