Lufthansa Unveils New First Class Terminal

Lufthansa opened its new first class terminal and two first class lounges in Frankfurt yesterday as part of the airline’s focus on its first class product.  As many other carriers have eliminated first class in favor of an enhanced business class, Lufthansa has taken a different approach, upgrading its amenities in first.  One of the more interesting is its possible upcoming launch in Munich of a private jet hub in Munich—basically, if a first class passenger wants to fly to, say, Paris, she would fly first class to Munich, then board a private jet (arranged by Lufthansa) that would connect with the incoming Lufthansa flight.  This was announced on the same day that American Airlines said they were eliminating pillows on some aircraft.  I’m just saying…
