Southwest Expands at Midway

Nov 2nd, 2004 | By Jared Blank

Look out Airtran…Southwest announced that it will add 16 nonstops from Midway to cities it already serves next year, bringing its total daily flights from the airport to 161. You may remember that Airtran just purchased ATA’s slots at Midway. You may also remember that Southwest doesn’t take competition sitting down. Things should get ugly at Midway, but this will likely benefit passengers, keeping fares low.
