Two Accidents on Thursday

Unfortunately, two accidents occurred yesterday involving commercial aircraft:

Seven crewmembers were killed on a Ghana-registered 747 when it crashed upon takeoff in Halifax. The Spain-bound flight was being flown by MK Airlines, a cargo carrier.

A Canadair Regional Jet operated by Pinnacle Airlines was involved in an incident after takeoff from Jefferson City, Missouri last night. The plane was on a repositioning flight, so only two crew members were aboard at the time. As of this writing, there is no word on the fate of the crewmembers. The Pinnacle Airlines website will offer updates throughout the day. Pinnacle flies as a Northwest Airlines affiliate. (UPDATE: The flight was repositioning from Little Rock to Minneapolis when it crashed outside of Jefferson City. Neither crew member survived. Click here for details.
