Ryanair to Offer Movies

Sep 22nd, 2004 | By Jared Blank

Despite recent moves to eliminate anything even slightly resembling a frill from its aircraft, Ryanair will now offer seatback video on demand, including movies and television programs (or programmes). Passengers will pay GBP 5-7 (roughly $9-13) to use the system in flight.

Ryanair says they’re going to make serious money on this. Actually, Ryanair isn’t a no-frills airline; they’re a pay-for-frills airline. Northwest is a low-frills airline that acts like a high frills airline; they don’t offer seatback video on demand, for example. Or mortgages.
