JetBlue and LaGuardia

Jun 24th, 2004 | By Jared Blank

If you’re going to Florida this fall or winter, your choices of flights just got bigger. JetBlue announced that they will begin flights from LaGuardia to Ft. Lauderdale beginning September 17th. Their CEO lightly hints that they wanted a small foothold at LGA in case Delta or US Airways significantly reduces their presence there. These new flights mean that JetBlue will have, get this, 71 flights a day between New York and Florida. Florida, apparently, will absorb any capacity you throw at it. It’s incredible. Those are 71 flights that didn’t exist 3 years ago.

  1. How come Jet Blue has no presence in my hometown of Chicago? I think they would do well here. I’ve been here in Chicago for some time now and have been looking for a low cost carrier with direct tv to serve my “not ever going to philly” needs.
