Air France Dedicate
Jun 16th, 2004 | By Jared BlankAbout a year ago Air France quietly launched a new service called Dedicate targeting the oil and gas industries. Flights on specially-configured aircraft went from Paris to Malabo, Equitorial Guinea, and Pointe Noire, Republic of Congo. Based on the success of these highly-specialized services, the airline is announcing new service from Paris to Doha, Qatar, Kuwait City, Kuwait, and Tashkent, Uzbekistan. I mention this only because, as far as I’m aware, it’s the only time an airline has reconfigured aircraft and created a separate unit specifically to serve one industry—and has done it profitably.
