ATA Posts a Loss

May 10th, 2004 | By Jared Blank

For some reason I almost never talk about ATA, but they had a pretty bad quarter, losing $64 million. I bring this up because the airline said that it is asking unions to postpone pay raises in 2004 and 2005. It now appears that nearly every airline has asked for givebacks from its employees—it’s sad to think that airline business models (for the most part) depend on employees donating portions of their salary to keep their employer afloat.
