Iraqi Airways, and Pay By the Mile

Air Canada, which is undergoing a miserable restructuring, said that its chief restructuring officer quit this week. I don’t have a ton of restructuring experience myself, but I’ve got to imagine that that is not a good sign.

Sun Country Airlines, a small Minneapolis-based carrier, introduced a new fare structure where passengers of its so-called VIP Club will pay $29 plus 9 cents per mile for a flight. If booking with little advance purchase, it’s a great deal.

And finally, do you refurbish airplanes? Do you want to go to Iraq? Iraqi airways needs your help. The airline is looking for a company to overhaul its 3 727s and 2 747s that have been sitting in the Jordanian desert for more than 10 years. If you have the skills to do this, send me your resume and I’ll pass it on.
