Small Beer for Ryanair

The European Commission has announced that Ryanair must pay back about $4 million in subsidies it received from Belgium’s Charleroi Airport. It was ruled that Ryanair received illegal financial help from the regional airport, and this ruling could have wider implications for Ryanair, which has struck similar deals with airports across Europe. Most interesting, though, is that an analyst in the above story called the fine, “small beer.”
