Southwest to Change Strategy?

Dec 23rd, 2003 | By Jared Blank

The Wall Street Journal reports today that Southwest is considering scrapping its no-frills strategy as low-fare competitors introduce seatback TV and such. The article notes that America West nearly signed an agreement for seatback TV recently, tho the deal fell through at the last minute. All of this continues to point to the fact that the Majors offer a wildly inferior product to their low-fare breathren, and will be in a giant heap of trouble by 2006 if their are flying around offering no movie on transcon flights, while Southwest has free TV from Lubbock to Dallas.
