Song finally unveiled its long-discussed seat-back entertainment units and, according to Song, it’s a hit! Passengers seem to like it, too. JetBlue will likely announce in January that it will have seatback pay-per-view movies, preempting Song’s announcement of similar functionality.
Here’s what I find interesting: Legacy airlines are focusing on providing tools (such as seatback email) that allow business people to work while on board. The new carriers are providing features that let business travelers forget about work while traveling. Which of those is more appealing?
